SINGING
Music Wise has used singing as a valuable tool in workshop activity throughout its programmes, from singing games early years and family activity to vocals in band skills workshops and rock schools. It is currently supporting a choir for looked after children with their parents or carers in Norfolk. Norfolk Community Arts (NORCA) has been running successful singing programmes with young people in Norwich.
The quantity and quality of singing in schools in Norfolk is varied mainly dependant on the expertise of staff but many Norfolk primary schools have top class choirs which compete successfully in national competitions. The Sing Up initiative will provide an excellent new resource for the county and Music Wise 2 will liaise with Norfolk County Council Music Services as well as organisations such as NORCA to ensure that support for out of school singing work is developed and coordinated appropriately.
